Volleyball Recap: Shadyside Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Ali Weatherson and Aubrey Nippert

After flying high against Bridgeport on Tuesday, Shadyside came back down to earth. The Tigers came up short against the Shenandoah Zeps on Thursday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Zeps this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 two weeks ago.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-17, 25-13.

Shadyside's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aubrey Nippert, who had ten kills, eight digs, and one block, and Ali Weatherson, who had 22 assists and four digs. Weatherson is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Giovanna Hines, who had nine kills.

Shadyside's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Shenandoah, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

Shadyside will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bellaire at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Shenandoah, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Garaway on the 20th.
