Basketball Recap: Xavior Ventura's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sports Leadership & Management over Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas

Sports Leadership & Management was the 71-66 winner over Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sports Leadership & Management Bulls fell just short of the Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas Falcons by a score of 58-56 on Thursday.

Sports Leadership & Management's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Xavior Ventura, who went 6 for 12 en route to 16 points. Pablo-Ernestro Cruz-Lara was another key player, going 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points.

Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Caleb Wingate out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Jayden Aranas, who posted 13 points and three steals.

Sports Leadership & Management's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas, their record now sits at 8-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sports Leadership & Management will head out to take on Boulder City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas, they will challenge Pahrump Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
