League recap: Windsor Central climbs in state rankings with win

Windsor Central moved up to 213 from 324 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Section 4 B Division III. The Black Knights were able to make the jump by beating the Black Knights 29-14.

Chenango Valley led the league in scoring this week after putting up 35 points on Owego Free Academy. Evan Trebilcock threw for 37 yards and 11 touchdowns and ran for 23 yards in the win.

The Warriors' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Anthony Miller chipped in 143 yards. Trevor Henige helped Chenango Valley's passing attack out by catching one ball for 10 yards.

Bryan Pert was the best wideout in the league this week as Chenango Valley beat the Indians. Pert racked up one reception for 27 yards.

6-foot-3 quarterback Brendan Lord of Oneonta is the league leader in passing yards this season with 207. He has also thrown two touchdowns. On the ground, Jay Hope's team's Miller has rushed for 319 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Zack Collins. The Chenango Valley star has four catches for 81 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Yellowjackets take on Norwich. Oneonta is currently in fourth, while the Tornadoes are in first.

Windsor Central made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,132 from 9,545. The improvement was the result of 29-14 victory over Tim Hogan's team last week.
