Football Recap: Brevard Picks Up 13th Straight Win at Home

It's playoff time, and Brevard had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Pisgah Bears on Friday as they made off with a 49-28 victory. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won nine contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

Chrstian Conley produced another solid effort rushing for 58 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 143 yards and three TDs on only eight passes. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Brevard's leading receiver Tristan Thompson-Wynn was Conley's top target yet again, picking up 54 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Brevard was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 220 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 165 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 15 points in total. All came from Andres Melgarejo: he went 5-for-5 kicking field goals for 15 points.

Brevard pushed their record up to 13-0 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.5 points on average this season. As for Pisgah, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.

Looking ahead, Brevard will host Maiden at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pisgah does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
