Knights win final six games of the season to capture Class 6A state title, No. 1 ranking.

The high school football season in Utah came to a close over the weekend. Lone Peak (Highland) was among the victors with a 49-42 win over Corner Canyon (Draper) in the Class 6A state championship game. That helped propel the Knights to the No. 1 ranking in the final Utah MaxPreps Top 25.

Following a 14-9 loss to Skyridge on Oct. 1, Lone Peak (10-2) won six in a row en route to the title, including a pair of wins over three-time defending champion Corner Canyon.

Lone Peak was making its sixth championship game appearance in the last 11 seasons with titles in 2011, 2018 and now 2021.

The lone unbeaten team in the final rankings was Class 4A state champion Ridgeline (Millville). The Riverhawks averaged 45.2 points per game and won every contest by at least 13 points.
