Basketball Recap: Central Yellow Jackets vs. Sacred Heart Valkyries
Central lost against Sacred Heart back in March of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Central Yellow Jackets had to suffer through a 71-40 loss at the hands of the Sacred Heart Valkyries. While losing is never fun, the Yellow Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Valkyries are ranked first).
Sacred Heart's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bri Wilkins, who went 7 for 8 en route to 18 points and four steals. That's the most points Wilkins has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of ZaKiyah Johnson, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 18 points.

Central will face off against Elizabethtown and their nine-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, Sacred Heart will try to stop George Rogers Clark's nine-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
