Softball Recap: Brooks Lions vs. Wilson Warriors
Brooks was the 6-1 winner over Wilson when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Lions might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 6-5 to the Warriors, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Karley Moreland put in work while hitting and pitching. She pitched 5.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs she has allowed since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Mackenzie Fuqua was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Jordan Chambers was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Brooks' record now sits at 12-10. As for Wilson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-12.
