Volleyball Recap: Sabine Gets the Win

Sabine hadn't done well against New Diana recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Cardinals walked away with a 3-1 win over the Eagles. For the Cardinals, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Sabine walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 19-25, 25-22, 25-22.

Despite the defeat, New Diana had strong showings from Taryn Reece, who had 34 digs and two aces, and Kenzie Thompson, who had 15 digs. Reece has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Sabine's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for New Diana, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record.

Sabine wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Harleton on the 23rd. As for New Diana, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Atlanta on the 23rd.
