Basketball Recap: Burlington Find Success

If Haxtun wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Burlington, they should've done a better job of containing Kiyarra Williams. The Burlington Cougars simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Haxtun Fightin' Bulldogs 62-23 which was due in part to Williams, who dropped a double-double with 29 points and ten rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Burlington's points.

Aubrey Culwell was another key player, putting up nine points. Those nine points gave her a new career-high.

Burlington's win bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Haxtun, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season.

We've got a battle between Cougars coming up. Sedgwick County will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Burlington surely won't give up without a fight. Haxtun does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
