Baseball Game Preview: Evergreen Valley Cougars vs. Ann Sobrato Bulldogs

Evergreen Valley is 1-7 against Ann Sobrato since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Cougars will host the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m.

Evergreen Valley is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Gilroy. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by just one run.

Evergreen Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Chang, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run. Vince Garcia was another, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Meanwhile, Ann Sobrato got themselves on the board against Cupertino on Saturday, but Cupertino never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Pioneers. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Liam Bettencourt, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Brown, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Ann Sobrato's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-6. As for Evergreen Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-15.
