Football Game Preview: West Limestone Wildcats vs. Brooks Lions

West Limestone hasn't had much luck against Brooks recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field against the Lions at 7:00 p.m. West Limestone has given up an average of 36.1 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when West Limestone faced off against Deshler on Friday. The Wildcats were outmatched by the Tigers and fell 47-14. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-7.

Meanwhile, after only 13 points in their last contest, Brooks made sure to put some points up on the board against Lexington on Thursday. The Lions blew past the Golden Bears 49-21. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won three games by 20 points or more so far this season.

Brooks found their leader in sophomore Tanner Bowens, who rushed for 138 yards and one TD while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 117 yards and one touchdown on only 11 passes. Ro Thompson was another key player, rushing for 53 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries.

Brooks has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.8 points over those games. As for West Limestone, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
