Softball Recap: Mission Oak Victorious

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Mission Oak and Tulare Union meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Hawks walked away with a 5-2 win over the Tribe. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hawks also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Maleena Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Braelyn Serpa was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Journee Hernandez, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Mission Oak back to even at 9-9-1. As for Tulare Union, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Mission Oak will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hanford at 4:30 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Tulare Union, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-1 loss against Selma on the 12th.
