Recap: Flagstaff Eagles vs. Cactus Shadows Falcons
The Flagstaff Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 57-41 to Cactus Shadows. Flagstaff has not had much luck with Cactus Shadows recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jake Centner, who scored 18 points. Centner scored a full 43.9% of Flagstaff's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor O'brien-piubeni, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Flagstaff has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Cactus Shadows, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Flagstaff won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lee Williams at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Lee Williams is ranked 159th, while Flagstaff is ranked 176th). Cactus Shadows will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Apollo at 8:00 p.m. on December 26th.
