Anderson County and Mercer County are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Anderson County Bearcats will venture away from home to challenge the Mercer County Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Anderson County will be strutting in after a win while Mercer County will be coming in after a loss.

Anderson County is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Collins: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Anderson County blew Collins out of the water with an 80-30 final score. The Bearcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Mercer County played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 70-33 loss at the hands of Rockcastle County. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Rockets recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Mercer County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Anderson County, their victory bumped their record up to 19-6.

Anderson County was able to grind out a solid win over Mercer County when the teams last played back in February of 2024, winning 66-53. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Mercer County's Ak Drakeford, who went 12 for 25 on her way to 32 points in addition to six assists and three steals. Now that she won't be playing on Monday, will it be easier for Anderson County to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
