Baseball Recap: Palmerton Takes Down Palisades in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Palmerton had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They never let the Palisades Pirates get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-3 back in April.

The result came thanks to Cameron Pengelly's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Palmerton is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Palmerton saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jason Carrelli, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Mason George, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Palmerton pushed their record up to 15-7 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Palisades, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

As of now, neither Palmerton nor the Pirates have any future games scheduled.
