Basketball Recap: Spring Hill Takes a Loss

Spring Hill played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Lincoln County Falcons, falling 59-20. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now lost seven in a row.

Spring Hill's loss came despite strong showings from Meshari Goodman and Emma Sharp. Goodman posted seven points and five rebounds, while Sharp put up four points.

Lincoln County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abgail Bryan, who scored 13 points and four steals. Alyssa Petty was another key player, going 6 of 9 on her way to 13 points and five boards.

Spring Hill's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Lincoln County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Spring Hill is taking a road trip to take on Shelbyville Central at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. Shelbyville Central will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Spring Hill surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lincoln County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-35 victory against Tullahoma on the 18th.
