While Providence Catholic's victory against Joliet Catholic wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Celtics sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Hilltoppers on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Celtics have won by exactly two runs.

Providence Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Joliet Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence Catholic will face off against Homewood-Flossmoor at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Celtics are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Joliet Catholic, they will square off against Wilmington at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Hilltoppers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
