Provo won the last time they faced Payson and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Lions 3-1. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly two runs.

Gehrig Orchard made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Dawson Moore was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Provo and bumps their season record up to 13-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Payson, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-14.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Provo beat the Lions by a score of 8-3 on Wednesday.
