Football Recap: Little Elm Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Little Elm made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Marcus, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lobos fell just short of the Marauders by a score of 26-24 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Lobos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 403rd, while the Marauders are ranked 88th).

Despite the loss, Little Elm still got an impressive performance from Thomas Adams, who threw for 209 yards and one touchdown on only 18 passes, and also rushed for 32 yards and one score.

Marcus' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Peyton Belton, who rushed for 69 yards and one TD. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 58 yards. Austin Allen also made an appearance on special teams (luckily for Marcus): his a 46-yard strike wound up winning them the game.

Little Elm's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Marcus, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Little Elm will take on rival Lewisville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Marcus is set to face off against their familiar foe Coppell at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Colton Nussmeier and Carter Zingelmann.
