If Briggs was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of West on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bruins came up short against the Grove City Christian Eagles on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Bruins' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-15, 25-6.

Grove City Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Laney Lytle, who had seven digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Lytle a new career-high. Lydia Lee also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Briggs' defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Grove City Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Briggs will welcome Walnut Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grove City Christian, they will venture away from home to take on Madison Plains at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
