Softball Recap: Mishawaka Marian Wins Going Away Against Triton

The Mishawaka Marian Knights got the win against the Triton Trojans on Monday by a conclusive 9-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Chloe Weber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mishawaka Marian's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Geiger, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Geiger has posted since back in March. Another was Makenzie Parker, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Mishawaka Marian's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Triton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

Coming up, Mishawaka Marian will take on New Prairie at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. Triton has already played their next matchup (against Culver Academies), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
