Recap: Hillsborough Terriers vs. Armwood Hawks

If the Hillsborough Terriers were riding high off their 59-36 takedown of the Gaither Cowboys last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Hillsborough fell just short of Armwood by a score of 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Hillsborough has suffered yet this season.

Loss or not, Hillsborough got some senior leadership from Deana Epps who scored 18 points along with five assists and two steals and Jojo Cruz-Smartt who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Jayleisa James, who scored two points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Hillsborough's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Armwood, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillsborough will challenge Alonso at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alonso will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 486th, while Hillsborough is ranked 215th). As for Armwood, they will head out on the road to take on East Bay at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
