Basketball Recap: River Islands' Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

River Islands had won two straight games and Dylan Peter did his part to make it three on Thursday. The River Islands Riptide came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 50-45 W against the Ben Holt College Prep Academy Bobcats thanks to Peter, who went 7-for-11 to rack up 21 points and six boards. Those 21 points gave him a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Zachary Basurto, who posted six points and nine rebounds. He has become a key player for River Islands: the team is undefeated when he posts at least eight boards, but 10-12 otherwise.

River Islands' win bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Ben Holt College Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.

River Islands wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 68-59 defeat against Big Valley Christian on the 19th. Ben Holt College Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
