Baseball Recap: Torrance Gets the Win

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Torrance ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Palos Verdes Sea Kings, sneaking past 4-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Torrance saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Guerra, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave Guerra a new career-high.

Torrance has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Palos Verdes, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-6.

Torrance will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Sea Kings: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
