Softball Recap: Sierra Vista Takes a Loss

Sierra Vista was the 15-1 winner over Doral Academy Red Rock when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mountain Lions lost 12-2 to the Dragons on Wednesday. The Mountain Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Reagan Foglia put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and nine unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Sierra Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Doral Academy Red Rock, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sierra Vista will venture away from home to take on Spring Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mountain Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Grizzlies have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season. As for Doral Academy Red Rock, they will head out to face off against Basic at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Dragons surely won't give up without a fight.
