Baseball Recap: Herrin Takes a Loss

Herrin extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 7-12. They fell 8-4 to the Murphysboro Red Devils. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Devils earlier this season, when they won 11-9.

Tanner Hall was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

As for Murphysboro, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-14. That four-run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

On Murphysboro's side, the team relied heavily on Jackson Graff, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave Graff a new career-high.

Herrin wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 20-7 defeat against Massac County on the 21st. As for Murphysboro, they will head out to take on Carbondale at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
