Volleyball Game Preview: Encinal Jets vs. Piedmont Highlanders

The Encinal Jets will face off against the Piedmont Highlanders at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Encinal: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Piedmont has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

Encinal lost 3-0 to Castro Valley on Thursday.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-14, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Piedmont suffered their biggest defeat since October 24, 2024 on Thursday. They came up short against Berkeley, falling 3-0. The Highlanders have struggled against the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Piedmont was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Berkeley work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 27-25, 25-17.

Encinal's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Piedmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.

Everything went Encinal's way against Piedmont when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Encinal made off with a 3-0 win. Will the Jets repeat their success, or do the Highlanders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
