Burrell took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Freeport, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bucs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Yellowjackets on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Bucs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Burrell pushed their record up to 15-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Freeport, they moved to 11-6 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Coming up, Burrell will head out to square off against Leechburg at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Bucs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 11.4 runs per game this season. As for Freeport, they will welcome Highlands at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
