Basketball Recap: Westminster Christian Warriors vs. Harvest Christian Academy Lions
After flying high against Christian Liberty last Monday, the Westminster Christian Warriors came back down to earth. Westminster Christian was dealt a 57-17 loss at the hands of the Lions on Tuesday. Westminster Christian has struggled against the Lions recently, as their match on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
It was another big night for Daphne Brown, who scored 18 points along with six assists and five rebounds for Harvest Christian Academy. Brown is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Burke, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Westminster Christian's loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-17. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.3 points per game. As for Harvest Christian Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-10.
Westminster Christian will head out on the road to square off against the Titans at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Illinois (Illinois Math & Science Academy is ranked 657th, while the Warriors are ranked 675th). As for Harvest Christian Academy, they will square off against the Green Giants at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
