            Softball Recap: Liberty Indians vs. Fallsburg Comets        
        
		
        
        
            Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Liberty). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Fallsburg Comets  a   22-0 shutout  on Wednesday. With that  win, the Indians brought their scoring average up to 6.2  runs per game.
 Angie Wheeler made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out eight batters over  3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. She also  hit a  double, marking her first of the season.
 In other batting news,  Giuliana Wagner was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with five  RBI and two  runs.  Cameryn Will was another key player,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with two  stolen bases, three  RBI,  and one  run.

 Liberty  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .729. The last time their  OBP was this high was  back in April of 2024.
Liberty's first  victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7.
 Looking ahead, Liberty will take on Port Jervis at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The Indians will need to watch out since the Raiders have now posted at least ten  runs  in their last three matches. Fallsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
