Baseball Recap: Marshall Takes a Loss

If Marshall was riding high fresh off their 11-3 takedown of Hillsdale last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Redhawks fell just short of the Holt Rams by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The contest marked the Redhawks' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Holt, their victory bumped their record up to 5-10.

Marshall and Holt could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Redhawks (ranked 129th) will meet Lakeshore (ranked fourth) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Holt will challenge Portland at 4:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (256 vs. 72).
