Preview: New Hope Indians vs. Brindlee Mountain Lions

The New Hope Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Brindlee Mountain Lions at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (New Hope has three straight wins, Brindlee Mountain has 12 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Two weeks ago, New Hope earned a 52-41 victory over Kate Duncan Smith DAR.

Meanwhile, Brindlee Mountain came up short against Brewer on Tuesday and fell 51-41. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Brindlee Mountain in their matchups with Brewer: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite their defeat, Brindlee Mountain saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Zoey Persle, who scored ten points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Persle continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Autumn Abernathy, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

New Hope's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Brindlee Mountain, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-14.

New Hope couldn't quite finish off Brindlee Mountain in their previous meeting back in January of 2020 and fell 48-46. Can New Hope avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
