Amaya Richardson leads Armwood to victory over Tampa Bay Tech

Recap: Armwood Hawks vs. Tampa Bay Tech Titans

The Armwood Hawks waltzed into their game on Tuesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They came out on top against Tampa Bay Tech by a score of 50-40. Given Armwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while Tampa Bay Tech is ranked 343rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Amaya Richardson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Na'Chauncia Welch was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.

Tampa Bay Tech's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Breanna Hartley, who scored 12 points along with five assists and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Azjannie Culberth, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Armwood is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Tampa Bay Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Armwood won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bloomingdale at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th. Bloomingdale will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line. As for Tampa Bay Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against Robinson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Robinson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday.
