Softball Recap: Springfield Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Springfield won the last time they faced Wayne and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Wildcats walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Warriors. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by exactly five runs.

Leeauna Rardon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Springfield got a massive performance out of Jazzdyn Frock, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was Frock's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Caelyn Cave, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Springfield's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9. As for Wayne, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Springfield will challenge rival Fairmont at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Wayne is set to square off against their familiar foe Springboro at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
