Softball Game Preview: Lake Stevens Vikings vs. Cascade Bruins

Lake Stevens is a perfect 10-0 against Cascade since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Lake Stevens will face off against Cascade at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Lake Stevens' offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Roosevelt on Saturday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Vikings were not able to get on the board.

Mara Sivley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

Meanwhile, Cascade also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Monroe by a score of 6-3.

Cascade saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cienna Cannon, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Tessa Hahn was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Lake Stevens' defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-4. As for Cascade, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Everything went Lake Stevens' way against Cascade when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Lake Stevens made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Stevens since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
