Recap: Sheets Memorial Christian Eagles vs. Gospel Light Christian
The Sheets Memorial Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 59-19 defeat at the hands of Gospel Light Christian. Sheets Memorial Christian has not had much luck with Gospel Light Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Sheets Memorial Christian struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Gospel Light Christian posted ten assists.
Gospel Light Christian found their leader in underclassman Brooklyn Miller, who scored 19 points along with six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Maggie Jo Church, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Sheets Memorial Christian dropped their record down to 2-18 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Gospel Light Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sheets Memorial Christian has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Oak Level Baptist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on February 9th. Gospel Light Christian will take on Surry HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Gospel Light Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
