Simsboro waltzed into their match  on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Bastrop Rams with a sharp  9-1 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  12-2  two weeks ago.
 Carlei Wheeler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only two  hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Jacoya Lewis was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-4. She is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last three games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Kailee Hamilton, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4.
 Simsboro  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bastrop struck out 13 times.
Simsboro pushed their record up to 20-10 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  on the road. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bastrop, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14-1 record  this season.
 Simsboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bastrop, they will square off against Madison at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
