Softball Recap: Barren County's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Barren County unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Larue County Hawks by a score of 2-1. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Barren County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Elmore, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Barren County's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Larue County, their victory bumped their record up to 21-4.

Barren County and Larue County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings. The Trojans (ranked 31st) will meet Russellville (ranked 123rd) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Larue County will challenge Hart County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (22 vs. 138).
