Softball Game Preview: Hiland Hawks vs. Indian Valley Braves

Hiland is 0-7 against Indian Valley since April of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Hawks will venture away from home to challenge the Braves at 5:00 p.m. Hiland has given up an average of 20.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hiland is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They lost 14-1 to Waynedale.

Hiland saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jalyn Immel, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Indian Valley waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Aviators with a sharp 14-8 win. Considering the Braves have won three contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Bella Weaver was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Natalie Musser was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5.

Indian Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alliance only posted an OBP of .393.

The victory got Indian Valley back to even at 3-3. As for Hiland, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Hiland might still be hurting after the 21-0 loss they got from Indian Valley when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
