Softball Recap: Dixon Takes a Loss

Dixon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Stillman Valley Cardinals, falling 10-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dukes And Duchesses of the 4-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Dixon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Hicks, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Another was Brooklyn Tegeler, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs.

Dixon's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Stillman Valley, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Dixon is set to take on their familiar foe Oregon at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Stillman Valley will challenge rival North Boone at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cardinals 3, the Vikings 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
