Softball Recap: Watertown Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Watertown waltzed into their matchup on Monday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over Central Magnet. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by eight runs or more this season.

Watertown let Alyssa Wood and Kayla McGuire run wild. Wood got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three runs, while McGuire got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave McGuire a new career-high. Rachel Seabern was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Watertown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Magnet only posted an OBP of .435.

Watertown's victory bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Central Magnet, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-16.

As of now, neither Watertown nor Central Magnet have any future games scheduled.
