Concord has won three straight games at home, while East Rowan has won three straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. Concord will welcome East Rowan at 5:00 p.m. Concord is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
While Concord didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Albemarle 24-9 on Wednesday. The Spiders not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 19, 2024.

Alexa Hooks made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, McKinley Williams was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with seven RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Anamaria Shuman, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Concord always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .763. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, East Rowan faced Alexander Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. East Rowan took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alexander Central. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost four in a row.
Concord has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, East Rowan fell to 9-1.
