Basketball Recap: Samaya Brown's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Highland Springs over Thomas Dale

After flying high against Patrick Henry last Tuesday, Highland Springs came back down to earth. The Highland Springs Springers fell just short of the Thomas Dale Knights by a score of 53-50 on Thursday. The Springers haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Several Springers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Samaya Brown, who posted 21 points. Those 21 points gave Brown a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jesiah Young, who had 16 points.

Highland Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Thomas Dale, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Highland Springs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-54 victory against Henrico on the 7th. As for Thomas Dale, they will square off against Matoaca at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
