Baseball Recap: Frontier Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Frontier ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Jamestown Red & Green. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-3 on Friday.

Ethan Hediger made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Robby Kibler, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Frontier hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive games.

Frontier is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Jamestown, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Looking ahead, Frontier will square off against Canisius at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Jamestown, they will take on Southwestern at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Red & Green surely won't give up without a fight.
