Baseball Game Preview: Marbury Bulldogs vs. Enterprise Wildcats

The Marbury Bulldogs will take on the Enterprise Wildcats at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. Marbury is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 11 games.

Marbury barely beat Chilton County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Marbury blew past Chilton County 14-2 on Saturday. That looming 14-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bulldogs yet this season.

Fairhope typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Enterprise proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Pirates 2-0. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won three in a row.

Fairhope's batters probably weren't too happy with Brady Richardson, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (he gave up four walks). That's the most strikeouts Richardson has posted over his last five matchups.

On the hitting side, Cayden Boutwell was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Marbury's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Enterprise, their win bumped their record up to 19-1.

Marbury came out on top in a nail-biter against Enterprise when the teams last played back in February of 2023, sneaking past 4-3. Will Marbury repeat their success, or does Enterprise has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
