Basketball Recap: Pekin Comes Up Short

Pekin was the 54-42 winner over East Peoria when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pekin Dragons fell just short of the East Peoria Raiders by a score of 67-64 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while the Raiders are ranked 89th).

Pekin's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for East Peoria, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4.

Pekin has already played their next game (against Bloomington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. East Peoria has already played their next contest, a 60-45 victory against Rockridge on the 18th.
