Basketball Recap: Stoneman Douglas Eagles vs. South Broward Bulldogs
After flying high against Coral Glades on Thursday, Stoneman Douglas came back down to earth. The Stoneman Douglas Eagles took a 40-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Broward Bulldogs on Friday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Ayonna Lewis was the offensive standout of the matchup as she dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (five). Another player making a difference was Kalia Adams, who posted six points in addition to 12 rebounds and four blocks.
Stoneman Douglas' loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for South Broward, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stoneman Douglas will host Piper at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
