Volleyball Recap: Benilde-St. Margaret's Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Delano

Benilde-St. Margaret faced Delano in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Red Knights fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. The Red Knights have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Benilde-St. Margaret's sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-20, 20-25, 25-13, 23-25, 15-11.

Kaelyn Wittwer had a dynamite game For Delano., getting 39 digs and three assists. That's the most digs Wittwer has posted since back in August of 2024.

Benilde-St. Margaret's loss dropped their record down to 13-5. As for Delano, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-1.

Looking ahead, Benilde-St. Margaret's will challenge Orono at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Delano, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Mound-Westonka on the 7th.
