Football Recap: North Valleys Comes Up Short

North Valleys fell victim to Churchill County and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 44-0 loss at the hands of the Greenwave. The Panthers have struggled against the Greenwave recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Mikole Almond threw for 104 yards on ten of 20 attempts. Lucas Sadler was his top target, picking up 36 receiving yards. On the ground, Hayden Lewis rushed for 39 yards.

Matthew Bird was a one-man wrecking crew For Churchill County. as he threw for 296 yards and five TDs while picking up 13.5 yards per attempt. Those five passing touchdowns gave Bird a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Calin Anderson, who picked up 98 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

North Valleys' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Churchill County, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

North Valleys didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 21-7 defeat against Galena on the 29th. As for Churchill County, they have also already played their next contest, a 43-0 win against South Tahoe on the 29th.
