Baseball Recap: West Takes a Loss

West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mira Costa Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 5-1 loss on Wednesday.

Tad Tiomico was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base and one run. Joey Campbell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

West's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Mira Costa, the win was the 20th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. West is set to square off against their familiar foe Torrance at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Mira Costa will face off against rival Redondo Union at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs are on a 14-game streak of home wins, the Sea Hawks a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
